About us Who we are Staff Paul Edge Service Support Worker West Sussex Hi, my name is Paul. I love spending time with my family and my 2 beautiful granddaughters. They mean the world to me. I like a game of chess from time to time, but not to say I am a genius. My great passion is cooking and baking. I also like my footy, a true blue Evertonian, of course, up the Toffees. I have struggled with alcohol for many years: rehabs, detoxes. I have attended lots of meetings and counselling. CGL have been my saviour on many occasions and helped me so much through my recovery. I have had a lot of tragedy and heartache through my life, physical and mental abuse, but without the amazing support I have had from CGL, I probably would not be here now. I have the most amazing wife, who has stuck through thick and thin with me through everything I have gone through. We have now been together for over 30 years. My final detox was July 2025 at Chichester CGL. CGL told me about BoB before I had my detox, so I thought I would go along to see what it was all about. I was a bit apprehensive and very anxious, but when I turned up, I was welcomed with open arms, a cup of coffee, and a toastie. Even though I was a blubbering wreck and very much intoxicated, BoB was just what I needed. I started becoming a regular at BoB in Worthing and was told about BoB in Chichester and Crawley, so then I was attending all 3 hubs. I was asked by the amazing staff if I would like to become a volunteer. It was an honour to be asked. I started hosting quizzes and cooking and preparing food, which I loved doing, and just getting generally more involved in anything else I could help with. Then things got even better. I was asked if I would like to apply to become a member of staff. I said yes, and I got the job as a support worker, and now I can help and support other service users through their recovery.
