About us Who we are Staff Jan Murphy Service Support Worker in RBKC and the Badminton Club Hey! I’m Jan, Service Support Worker at BoB Acorn Hall. I’ve been around a little while. Still nuts, quirky and finally me! I have vague recollections of the Blenheim Aftercare and BoB at Earl’s Court along those early days of my recovery journey. I have always benefitted from those with lived experience of substance use coz you can’t kid a kidder, right!?! BoB has given me my voice back and got me out of my head, especially when the volume’s loud and the bass maxes out. I actually feel held. Even broken crayons work, right? I can be there for the others and show there is another way, so just stick around. I’ve finally found my perfect role. Those windows of opportunity are few, yet they landed right here. First as a service user, then a volunteer at Acorn Hall. I can honestly say I’ve found my tribe, my fit and ‘family’ that have always been there, even when I couldn’t be there for myself. I’d turn up, get fed and watered, connect, play games, chat and then I’d be good to go. It gave me hope. 'HOPE' is my favourite word. Hold On Pain Ends through to Help Open People’s Eyes, and it always sees me through. I finally found my feet. I’ve taken a leap of faith, and landing this role feels like I’ve finally come home. My motto in life is: Be Curious, Stay Gritty, and BoB allows me to keep moving onwards and upwards! I’m beginning to feel like a grown-up with a proper job! I’m excited and happy. Outside, I’m a true Blue. It’s in the blood, and Chelsea, I love you!! Proper footy fan!!! Fitness is my passion. Just keep on wiggling it, just a little bit keeps me focused, as I cannot keep still for long, although yoga is helping me with this, surprisingly! That’s me! See you there! You’re all welcome!
